Yay! I am back from ikea, and I am SO happy to say that the trip was very sucessful. I managed to get everything on my list, even though I *thought* I was going to have to leave without a couple *key* items.
The night before leaving I changed my mind on the wardrobe for Trins room. The more I thought about this wardrobe, the more I wanted it. It had so much more storage... and I also had a eureka moment, that sealed the deal for me. *more on that later!* So, I thought... why not check the stock availablity and make sure they have it. I did, and was SO bummed to find out they were out of stock! I noticed they mention being more cautious to avoid dissapointment, so was Hoping the whole way there that maybe they had 1 still there. I checked, and was so excited!! They had 2 left!! My eureka idea was adorning vinyl decals to the wardrobe. There are so many sellers on etsy selling these decals, and I have been drooling for months over a couple designs, so purchasing some (finally) is super exciting.
The avalanche was awesome to take. We ended up needing to put the put the seats down, so Trin ( along with a few of my overflow items) and her carseat ended up riding with mom and dad in the Tahoe. Which meant a nice quiet trip home for me and Jaydon. Thanks mom/dad! :)
Anyhow, on the way there I was trying to tell myself that anything was going to be out of stock, I would rather it be the wardrobe. At least there were other options as far as that went. BUT, the bed and crib... those were pretty important and were in stock. So, after walking through the showcase, and shopping the marketplace we headed to the self serve section to pick up the heavy big items. It was then that we discovered the loft bed had sold out that day. I was SO dissapointed. We headed back upstairs to look at other options, I happened to ask an employee about a particular bed when we got on the subject of the loft bed. I told him we had driven 4 hours, to buy that bed but it had already sold out. He said "really It shouldnt be..." He punched into his computer, and made a few calls. Turns out that particular day they had sold *3* of those beds, when normally they sell 1. He told me that there were some more up on top, but that they will not use the fork lifts during store hours to avoid accidents. He said there was a possibilty if the bed was not too heavy that maybe the guy could get it down without the fork lift. To make a long story short, we got it! The employees there were SUPER nice, and it was a little stressful, but it sure helped having a detailed list.
Now, I am needing to plan an ikea assembling party. :) The problem is, Jaydon my dad, brother, and my brother in law are all planning a trip into the mountains with they're "toys" over memorial day weekend. Which means the next few weeks will be spent tweaking and installing new parts. So, I think I will probably be staring at some unassembled furniture for awhile. Unless I can somehow bribe everyone to come on over for some homeade cinnamon rolls. I do have a recipe very similar to cinnabon's and it almost always allows me to convince my husband/dad/brothers to do a little work for me. ;) Hmm.... will have to let you know how that turns out.
Hope you had a great weekend as well!?
