exciting news!

Hi everyone!! So, I've been suuuper busy updating the overlays blog. I am not COMPLETELY finished, but I am just about there! :) It has a new fresh look, and I am working on outlining some future projects and new categories. I'm trying to keep things at a manageable level, something I know I can keep up with. So, while I have a TON of awesome ideas, I am trying to think realistic, and doable.... without alot of stress involved. :) I'll keep you posted when I wrap things up over there....

Something else I am really excited about.... is the ability for you to *choose* how you would like to purchase your overlays. e-junkie (uh-huh I know... what a name? :) has allowed me to upload all the overlays to they're site.... they provided me with these checkout buttons....

and it makes the checkout process pretty simple. I can accept your payment through paypal or google checkout.... and after you pay you are e-mailed a link where you can download your overlay(s) NO MORE WAITING! :) How awesome is that? I like to think I am always pretty quick at sending you your overlays, but this is by far quicker then me... ;)

Another reason why I am excited about this new set-up is the fact that I can provide discount codes, and gift coupons. Something I can't really do with etsy. So, be on the lookout for an official blog grand opening sale in the coming days. Maybe even sometime tomorrow! ;)

Oh- and the overlays are still available in my etsy shop, if you are more comfortable going that route. :) I hope you are having a great tuesday!! I am so happy to check this off my to list. It has been a few months coming now... :) Have you checked anything of your to do list lately, something that seems to have been there for like EVER? :)

Dry Falls

If you are ever in Washington, Dry Falls is really really awesome to see. :) We drive by ALL the time on our way to see family near Wenatchee. We had Jaydon's sister with us on our way back from camping over Memorial Day weekend.... so we stopped so she could really take it all in. It was starting to get dark, so my pictures aren't the greatest but I wanted to still share them with you guys! :)

Prints Charming

He is here!

and there were cheesy pictures taken....

just a couple though... :) Prints Charming arrived by truck monday afternoon he sat outside on the porch and it was like torture waiting for Jaydon to get home. Even though I knew the printer weighed 89 lbs, I really did try to move it myself... but quickly decided that was just NOT happening. :)

Until I can find a suitable table Prints Charming is taking up residence on the floor in our room. Not the most ideal set-up but it seems to be working. Let me just say that I am still trying to learn all there is to know about this printer. It seems a bit overwhelming at first, and I have definitely missed the comfort of my old printer... he had flaws but at least I knew them all! :) But, once I adjust to all the features I think that me and charming will get along great! Well, I am off to bed. It is only 10:00 but it has definitely been "one of those" days....

Mazzie arrived in the mail a couple weeks ago. :) She is adorable, and her and Journey were BFF's right from the beginning! She sleeps with her, and likes to take her places. :) Shannon always sends out a little bookmark with the dolls name and a number... well we decided to keep the name because it was so easy for baby to say. :) It is cute because Trinity always forgets and calls her pansy. :)

I have a little photo shoot planned for the girls and they're dolls. :) It should be tons of fun! These pictures were taken right after she opened her up. :)

Mazzie and Keiko (Trins doll) had a play date and became acquainted. Isnt the bear hat on Mazzie just super sweet? :)

This one's pretty deep huh? :) Happy monday! Hope its a perfectly perfect day. :) My printer is scheduled to arrive by truck freight TODAY! How is that for early shipping? Thank you to everyone who offered up names. I SO enjoyed reading them all. I was sharing your suggestions with Jaydon all weekend long and we definitely got a few laughs. There was some REALLY good names... but "Prints Charming" really really fit! :) Thanks Tami for that suggestion. I e-mailed you! :) For some reason I had the same post duplicated, so I had answers in two posts.... Anyhow I left both posts up. :) I still have to pick another random winner, and I'll do that sometime today!

My new business partner: help me name him!

 

Okay, for some reason, this got posted twice... (see previous post) and since I have comments in both, I'll go ahead and leave them both here for now.

I would like to introduce you all to my new friend! :) I am hoping we get along well, and that our friendship lasts for a LONG time.... :) See, my current wide format printer decided he wanted to retire the other day. Well, he did so without giving me any notice... I guess he may have been dropping hints here and there, but he definitely didnt give me anything in writing! This left me scrambling to order a new printer. Fortunately I had been putting money back for a new printer for quite awhile... I had also spent a little bit of time researching the different printers that were available to me, but I really didnt have one picked out. 

I knew that I really wanted to upgrade to a 17" wide printer, and I wanted a printer that used pigment inks, because they are supposed to be much more archival/lightfast then dye based inks found in inkjet printers. I also needed a printer that could handle printing on canvas, since that is ALL I print on. After spending quite a bit of time reading reviews, and pricing etc. I decided on an Epson Stlyus 4880. It is BIG, weighing in at 89 lbs. It is also pretty wide... 33" wide in fact. I am not entirely sure HOW I am going to find a place for it in our suuuper tiny home, but we'll make it fit somewhere. :) It was really more money then I wanted to spend, but I know it will eventually pay for itself. Being able to offer a variety of new print sizes is also suuuper fun! I'll be adding 16x20 sized prints to the shop, as well as smaller standard sizes, like 13x19. Because it supports roll paper, I can print panorama prints. Which would definitely require me to create some new art in that format!

Now for the bad news! Because I am printer-less... I am not able to send out any orders. My printer is EXPECTED to arrive by next friday. I will need a couple days to adjust and set up my printing profiles etc. I expect I should be able to start printing orders that following monday, on the 28th. Of course that is if the printer arrives when it should. I am still accepting orders, just not shipping yet. All orders will be shipped in the order they are received. Okay! I think that covers everything. I hope you enjoyed meeting my new friend/business partner. I am definitely planning to take pictures when he arrives!

p.s. Just for fun: You guys need to help me pick out a name for my new buddy! I promise a sweet little surprise will be sent to one random commenter, and another to the person who suggests the name I pick!  :)

If you are in the market for a new wall clock, but would much rather spend your money on wall art... then decoylab is your perfect compromise. :) The shop is stocked with some suuuper cute designs. So many in fact, that you will have a hard time deciding which one to buy! :)

It looks like decoylab also has a facebook page....

How is your friday going? Any special plans for the weekend? I definitely need to make time to weed my garden... AND take some pictures for you! :) I've been pretty excited to share it, because I am trying a new way to cut down on weeds. For the most part it seems to be working... Maybe I will have some pictures to post on monday. :)

Happy Thursday! There is going to be some changes over here at VOL25. I had a problem come up, and I'm working suuuper hard to take care of it. I'll post more when I have a little more detailed info to share. Lets just say it was a super stressful day yesterday!
