Help me create my next art series...

Hi!!

So, I've had a couple people suggest that I create some artwork geared towards photographers. Well, I thought that was a TERRIFIC idea and ever since I have started collecting bits of random inspiration. I've done a few sketches and written down some phrases and quotes that I think would be perfect. However, I'm still not entirely sure where to go with the series. Do I create the set to be soft and vintage with a mix of old and new cameras? Or do I go graphic and bold? Honestly I am leaning towards the soft and vintage. These photos by Rosie (one of my Design team girls) are inspiring to me! 

I am loving the idea of working in vintage polaroid sketches, and various cameras... But, (this is where you come in) I thought I would ask everyone's opinion. Do you have any ideas that come to mind?

 

I know as photographers you are so much more then a person with a camera... you are an artist, story teller, and you can, in a sense freeze time...

What would YOU like to see hanging on your wall as a positive reminder of your "calling"? Any phrases or quotes?

Balloon Rally Weekend!

Last weekend was the balloon Rally here in town, we got up suuper early and headed to the airport field to watch the crews air up they're balloons. :)

Journey really started to get interested when they began filling the balloons. :) My dad aka "Papa" packed her around most of the morning. She's always been a "papa's" girl. :)

The weather was PERFECT, it was suuuper nice and really felt like Fall. :)

After the balloons go up everyone gravitates to the bridge and some of the balloons like to touch down at the river. It is always SO neat to see.

I also decided to list this custom piece I did for a suuper nice lady a few months back. I really think the phrase is neat. :)

  This one would obviously coordinate with "sailing the storm". I created this custom piece before the ship image... it really inspired me! :)

I also got around to creating an etsy listing block for my printer!
SO glad to get that checked off my list for the day! :) I got quite a bit accomplished for the day and I am feeling SUPER tired super quick... I think I'll find my pillow and drag the hubs to bed... I hate going to bed by myself. Fortunately we both stay up pretty late. :)

a quote for your week chap 46

Hello! Are you enjoying fall? The weather is SO inceredibly nice here today... We had good weather over the weekend too! I have soo many pictures to edit... The balloon rally was this last weekend...

and we helped my sister and brother in law move into a place! :) The girls have been having SO much fun playing with they're cousins again.

and did I mention they're getting into all kinds of trouble together? :) They LOVE playing in the big dirt pile behind my parents' house. Although I think Jaydon and I may have relived our childhood just a little...

Jaydon made roads for they're cars, and I made a little house out of cardboard and planted some "trweeds"...

The girls had SO much fun...

When I was little I LOVED playing with my cars in the dirt, making roads and houses... Definitely have some good memories of that! Anyone else have fond memories of getting dirt under your fingernails?

I'll be back in the next couple of days with more pictures of the balloon rally!

OH- and btw a little birdie told me that there just might be a buy 2 get 1 free sale in my etsy shop starting Tonight at midnight.

My internet problem is FINALLY fixed! I know I've been saying this for what seems like FOREVER... but after a couple calls to Charter (our provider) an un-needed purchase of a new router, as well as a trip to my house from our local computer tech guy, we finally found out that it was a wire running outside our house. Such a relief to have it compeltely fixed now. This has caused me so much stress, and took my productivity level to 0.5. :) I couldnt even attach pictures to my e-mails it was so bad.

So, anyway I am looking forward to working BACK into my regular shipping schedule and I thank everyone who patiently awaited e-mail responses while I was running at turtle speed. :) I have SO much to get caught up on next week! I have these two kitchen prints that I need to list in my etsy shop:

they coordinate with these two prints. :) I have had them finished since July... so I DEFINITELY need to get them in the shop! I hope to do that on monday. I'll blog an update when I do have them available.

So... how is your saturday!? Ours was great. We had our annual Balloon Rally, and harvest festival. Remember I had a booth set-up last year? Well that was this weekend! :) I obviously decided not to do it again this year. So glad I didnt, my sister and her husband are back in town and moving into a house this weekend! We're actually going to help them move a little in today and the rest of they're stuff tomorrow. :) Fun Fun!!

yellow makes me happy!

I seriously cannot seem to get enough of the color yellow! :) I've been slowly changing my living room, and adding in yellow and gray here and there... it is coming along really good. Maybe I'll be able to post pictures sometime soon...I'm kind of worried that with the change in seasons yellow might go out to make room for Fall colors?

One thing I have wanted to do in my living room, is recover my throw pillows to add in some extra pops of color. I really think that adding color to your room via throw pillows makes a huge statement. :) Awhile back I bought some really great iron on transfer paper from a company online, and I thought it would be SUPER fun to design my own throw pillows using the transfer paper! I bought some pillow cases and planned to use the fabric on my pillows, the only catch- I do NOT know how to sew... and that really puts a damper on my over-all plans. Boo Hoo...

Do you have a favorite color combo that is inspiring you to do a little re-decorating?

LOVE this diy letter light

I seen this post on designsponge today, and HAD to share! :) I've admired these vintage looking signs for quite awhile now, but couldnt justify the huge price tag that usually accompanies them. :) You can imaging JUST how thrilled I was when I seen that curbly had written a diy post on how to make one of these guys yourself. :) It sounds like a fun project that my husband just might want to get involved in... it does after all require the use of a power tool. ;)

Do you think you are brave enough in the diy department to tackle this job? If you do take it on, you HAVE To share pictures!! :)

Newsletters/discounts will be going out Tuesday!

Hi!! I wanted to let everyone know that I re-designed my newsletters, and I am planning to have them sent out tuesday at 6PM PST. If you havent signed up yet, you should! :) I don't spam you with frequent e-mails... in fact, I'm doing good if I get one out every month. ;) BUT, from here on... I am going to try and get SERIOUS about sending a new one out every month. I'm keeping it pretty basic, I will have a small news section that will change from month to month, and a regular Discounts section that will give sales discounts, or promotions specific to my etsy shop, as well as coupon codes for the overlays/digital templates. These discounts will be specific to e-mail subscribers... I mean you need some kinda reward for willingly listening to me ramble once a month... ;)

p.s. Have I told you lately how much I LOVE using mailchimp to send out my newsletters? I havent tried any other providers, but after signing up with mailchimp a year or so ago... I definitely haven't had a reason to!

random cuteness- to be a prince...

I seen this on "the maternal lens" and thought it was TOO cute not to share! :) How is your week going? I'm still trying to get caught up. Last night I finally managed to network my printer through the new router, this was a task that should have taken an hour tops... but it ended up being so much harder then I thought it would be! 

I'm just so glad everything is finally worked out. I'll be getting all orders out within the next couple of days! :)
