We are officially back from our road trip. We really enjoyed ourselves, but sure are glad to be home and not living in a suitcase. The trip was long at times, and the novelty wore off pretty quickly that second day. Bathroom stops take twice as long when travelling with two kids, and we were really missing the roominess of the Avalanche. Although the Acura did get really good gas mileage, and the GPS navigation system was really handy. BUT leaving and seeing JUST how long we would be in the car was a bit discouraging.
About 10 minutes after I took the above picture, Journey asked if were were almost there.... Poor girl. :) I snapped 90+ pictures with instagram and already have a book ordered from blurb with shots from the trip.
The girls passed the time by drawing, watching movies, or working in their roadtrip journals. :)
There was the occasional nap (not often enough) ...
We had really good weather most of the way and that resulted in some VERY pretty scenery... that I just couldnt seem to do justice.
There were many many bathroom stops... I much preferred the rest stops over the busy gas stations.
We stopped at a few state signs. The girls really loved that part.
We had our share of fast food... and this Taco Bell/KFC sign took the award for the most interesting yet. I was somewhat shocked when someone greeted us over the intercom, but then I had the problem of trying to decide what I wanted, because there was... well.. SO... many available options to choose from. :)
Would you have been worried to eat food from this place? I was a little concerned... but was hungry enough I overlooked the lack of maintenance. :)
The girls decided that the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino from Starbucks beats the vanilla milk boxes hands down. ;) They shared a tall, and were pretty stoked as you can tell!
My cousin Stephanie (left side of the pic) came down and spent some time while we were in Tahlequah and it was nice to get to see her as well. It always works out pretty good because Jaydons brother married my first cousin, Tamara, Stephanies sister. (right side of the pic) :) So when we travel out to see Jaydons family I always get to see mine too. We tried to set his brother up with Tamara at our wedding and well... I think we were successful match makers! ;)
We were also able to stop in Grand Junction for a couple days on the way home, and stayed with some friends. I finished my road trip Journal/scrapbook and I plan to have some pics up next week. :)
p.s. Cherry Berry is similar to MyFroyo and SUUPER yummy!!
p.s.s. It is good to be back! :)
