This past month has been a little challenging for us. As you know (because I've mentioned it SEVERAL times) we've been painting the exterior of our 120 year old house. The cedar wood siding, paired with a very particular husband with little spare time has turned it into quite the job! My entire family has volunteered their time and I'm so thankful for them. We are down to just the trim painting and the easier tasks now.
I was trying to get as much done on the house during the day (while Jaydon was at work) but the sat before last I aggrivated an old injury... which has left me spending 90% of my day lying in my bed...
The novelty wore of real quick! I've had to accept help from my mom and others, and that is something that is hard to do! I'm very thankful for the caring family I have!
So now you are probably wondering just what the big changes are? Well, we are actually planning to sell our house and move up near the Methow/Pateros area. BIG change... although it isnt too far of a drive from here (about 3.5 hours) it still seems like a big change for me. I have lived in the Tri-Cities area all my life, and I'm finding out that I am one that doesnt welcome change. I love Prosser and the people here, but we've been feeling like a change of this nature would be a good choice for our family. The good news is that my parents and my brother in law/sis share the same feelings we do. Having them there will make this transition that much easier for our family. Although it also means triple the moving! :)
We already have a house picked out that I have been DYING to share with you guys but until things are a little more final in that dept. I'm going to resist the urge! However, I can share with you pictures from the area:
It is really beautiful out there in the mountains... and Pateros (where Trin will be going to school) is a cute tiny little town!
My friend grew up in Pateros so I have a LOT of good memories there! I also have family in the area. My aunt lived a few miles away and my sister and brother and I would go up every summer and spend a week with her. She and my uncle didnt have kids, so they always made us feel very special! :)
So, as you can imagine I've had a hard time not posting about this for the last month or two. :) I've been a ball of nerves, with all kinds of emotions. Scared, anxious, nervous, excited, and overwhelmed! The overwhelmed feeling really set in last week when I spent most of my time in bed. I hate feeling helpless and feeble-like... it is defintiely an humbling feeling to know that you really cant do anything on your own without help from the guy upstairs. ;)
We would ultimately like to be settled into our new place by winter so this means I'll probably need to close down my etsy shop during the busiest time of the year, through November. I'll be sure and let you know when that will be happening for sure but I do plan to run a Black Friday sale sometime next month to make up for the fact that I probably wont be in a position to do so in November.
We have also decided to sell Sharkey. We will be buying a trailer or fifth wheel just a tad bit bigger, since we may need to live in it for awhile. We are just a little too busy to attempt selling him just yet but we've decided to ask 2,500. This will recoup a little of what I spent on his makeover. We are hoping for a quick sell because of the move and priced him accordingly. I know I had quite a bit of interest on facebook when I mentioned it a week or so ago. I have a couple ppl that asked if he was roadworthy enough to drive states away. The truth is- I'm not really sure if he is or not. We've only taken him on short trips (mainly because we figure it costs us about 35.00 and hour to drive him) but I'm not comfortable telling someone he'll make it that far. I would feel horrible if there was indeed problems that arose! He is after all vintage. ;) He isnt without his quirks, but for 2,500 I think it may be hard to find anything nicer. :)
So, how is that for a very informative post?! I'm trying to get used to posting from my laptop... I just really don't like using it! I bought a smaller one so that I could travel with it easier... but that means it isnt nearly as convenient at home! Of course my main computer monitor is a 24" widescreen so it is quite the change switching between the two! :)
Isnt it ironic that at this time last year we had made an offer on another house here in Prosser? I ran a big sale and you were all so supportive helping us come up with a down payment! Our offer wasnt accepted and we werent even given the option to counter. We didnt understand why at the time. I've never shared pictures of it, but I dug these up!
It was a pretty basic newer construction home, but it had a river view and my parents were looking at property on the lot next to it:
Then something else I never publicly shared (because I wanted to wait till plans were more definite) was that after losing out on the above house we decided we would do a big addition on our house through winter, when work is a little slower for my dad. Jaydon drew up the plans and we collected bids, picking out doors, trim packages, tile, carpet... we had to request a variance from the city, it was quite the job. It took much longer than we thought so this Spring we decided we needed to wait until this next winter because work at that point had already begun picking up. I was pretty dissapointed, but now I know why it worked out that way! Amazing how you look back on things after the fact and you can see how all the pieces fit together?

Any tips for moving? The kids are really excited and that has definitely helped! Is it weird that I'm nervous to hit the publish button on this post!?

Trinity has been experimenting with fixing her own hair these past couple weeks. I was in the other room and heard them talking sweetly to each other, I peeked in the bathroom and seen her fixing Journeys hair. It was so sweet. :) She really is a good big sister.
I wanted to be independent and "fixed" my own hair when I was in 3rd grade... now when I look back on pictures, I regret it! My younger sister's hair always looks nice, (because my mom was still fixing hers) and mine looks a mess! :)

To create EVOKE (the new overlay set) I was able to play with Brandon Kidd Photography's work.
It was so liberating! I just love how most of the images incorporate quite a bit of white space... because this gives me lots of room to work in shapes. In this case phrases and sentiments pertaining to love, beauty and self awareness. :) I had a request for a set with quotes/phrases inspired by those very things and it was a fun set to create.

It has been a bit quiet around here! We're almost finished painting the outside of the house, and I couldnt be happier. Its been very labor intensive, and has zapped me mentally and physically! We are looking forward to feeling like a normal family again... life has been revolving around this house of ours!
Can you believe we went through 42 tubes of caulk? 3.5 boxes (like the one seen above) is waay to much!

EVOLVE is my first senior album template. This one was specifically meant to be used as a keepsake or memory book. But, with a little
tweaking it can revert back to a photo album. :) I actually listed this little guy last Friday! But forgot to blog it.
The album is versatile. It will work for both guys and girls... lets
face it though, most guys arent "record" keepers and probably will not
use the pages with journaling prompts. To still make the album work for
most guys, you can just substitute one of the spreads with nothing but
pictures. You can move pages around and use only what you want/need... and the whole album is half off until the 14th! :)
So there it is! My first senior themed album template. I really enjoyed playing around with the new size/format. It was definitely freeing! :)
Meanwhile outside I think I may finally be winning the battle of the peeling paint. Things were looking grim a few days ago... but my mom came over to help me scrape yesterday and boosted my morale.
I also had a not very useful nor helpful sidekick attempt to join me in my battle....
However, she quickly decided the battle was lost and moved onto new adventures. Today though we are all pretty excited because our niece little miss Lainey is bringing her parents all the way from Oregon to see us! :)

Wow... so I have missed a couple quote mondays! But today, I have found the most perfect quote! :) I hope it gives you the courage to reach out and do something you've been putting off.
Speaking of putting things off... painting the outside of our house has been one of those things. The house was built in 1892, and it has cedar wood siding, that has been painted at some time or another. :) It has been flaking off and peeling in some spots. We are finally tackling the job, and I have a new respect for professional painters! My husband had his own painting business before I met him, so he had a slightly better idea of what we were getting ourselves into. It is such a long process, pressure washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, and then finally painting. The wood itself is in fairly good condition, but it just seems so monotonous. We're also on a bit of a time crunch for finishing it up, and that hasnt helped. I've been a bit stressed and I will be so thankful to have the house finished up.

Remember that tease of a post I did back in May? You know the one where I mentioned what I had been working on, then left you guys hanging on just when you could grab them for yourselves!? Shame on me... but... the good news is that I finally finished it all up this morning! Which means you can now print your own road trip themed paper. Which also means you now have a really good excuse for a road trip! Never mind the fact that my timing is horrible and school is back in session. :D
Since I was fortunate enough to have my husband do 90% of the driving I was able to work on my Road Trip journal while traveling... and these instant cameras made that process much more inspiring. :)

I found this picture I took while travelling in Utah... and this one I took of my honey, also in Utah.
It was SO pretty that day! Gorgeous weather... but very windy. Jaydon insisted he snap one of me... I reluctantly agreed... my posture says it all... I need to make myself get on the other side of the camera more. You other mom-ographers can relate I'm sure? :)

Yesterday was a packed and very full day. We've started painting the outside of our house... which meant by the end of the day I had paint on my toes, fingers and a little in my hair... and all I painted was some gable trim and shutters. Our house was buit in 1892, so the siding is wood. It seems to be in pretty good shape, but the paint has been peeling in certain spots for quite some time... and we just really wanted to change the colors up a bit.
I have also decided that painting shutters is very time consuming, and I am thankful I only had 4 to do! The drink is an iced mocha with a baggy over the top and a straw poked through. I am not fond of bugs in my drink. ;)
We also watched the Labor day Parade. It was beautiful weather!
I dont know why she has her finger up. I should ask her. :)
Also, my tomatoes are going crazy, and I need a better staking system in place. Any suggestions? I keep wanting to try something with string?
Oh- and you may have followed along with this on facebook last Thursday, but I fell in love with a lost puppy that had been roaming our neighborhood... I was able to find her owners and found out what breed she was... and now I want one of my own Wyoming Mountain Dogs! Someday... :)
She was a very sweet, and well mannered puppy... and who could resist those coon eyes? :) I'm glad she found her owners though, because she clearly missed them... she spent most of her day whining and pouting everytime I went back inside! :)
Today I hope/plan to have a productive day ... wish me luck!
