We actually closed last Friday! I'm still in denial. I keep expecting the bank to call me asking for another letter or more paperwork! :) We spent our first night in the house Friday. We brought over a little bit of stuff from the trailer. I forgot milk for the cereal and eating utensils though. We had some friends come over saturday afternoon to help us move in. I woke up with a headache and it turned into a migraine later that afternoon. NOT fun, fortunately I can usually sleep them off. So once my bed was put together I took an afternoon nap and woke up feeling quite a bit better.
We have no cell service down here at the cabin, so we had to hook up a land line. It was left off the charger during that night, so we were pretty hard to get a hold of! :) It definitely felt like we were living "off the grid!" It seems really off to me that I can't just send someone a quick text. We have a stronger signal booster due to arrive today. Hopefully that will help some. :)
This loft area is pretty large... with 4 twin size beds built into the walls. Yesterday mom and I took one of the beds out of the wall and moved it to this half wall for now. I'm needing to claim an alcove for my big printer (which I still do not have) and and shipping supplies. I figure I will do my shipping up here. I just need to find a way to close off the alcove so little people arent tempted to play with my printer. :) I'm thinking it would be neat to do a set of bi-fold doors with barn/reclaimed wood.
My parents moved their fifth wheel down on our property until their house back in Prosser sells. It has been nice having help with dinner and the kiddos while unpacking! Which I might add- is much more work than I expected! :)
We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground, and it is a little cold... but I dont mind it nearly as much as I did. I really can't wait for Spring though. The front porch is going to be very nice!
I'm hoping it won't take me too much longer to unpack and get settled. Making the drive to Prosser to pick up my printer is definitely a must! If it wasnt so heavy I would go without Jaydon and grab it. But it weighs 80 lbs. Much too heavy for me to manage. I have tried updating my shop announcement on etsy, and it will not let me change it! So frustrating... since it says I'll be re-opening the 1st of January! :)
