"What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful."
-Scott Westerfeld
Hi guys!!!! So, I'm trying something new with my quotes. I had kind of quit doing them right before we moved... just because I was too busy to put anything together. With the start of the new year I'm ready to start doing them again! :)
At the beginning of the year, I am almost always ready for a re-design. This time around I have two standard templates/styles I'll be using. I like to try to keep things somewhat consistent in the style department. The circle format is probably the one I'll use most, because it is my favorite. :) I'm basically pulling textures and quotes from my previous art. Breathing new life into them. It feels good to be working with familiar pieces. :)
I wouldnt be surprised if I decided to switch things up again in a few months... but for now I'm welcoming something fresh!
Is it time for Spring cleaning yet? I am soo ready for Spring.

:) Happy Monday! Is it just me, or does the whole falling back time business make today seem even MORE like a Monday? Sleeping in an extra hour would be nice if the girls' internal alarm clock wouldnt stay the same! :) At any rate, it is gorgeous today. Fall colors are pretty and I'm just about to get busy printing and packaging orders!
We drove to Ellensburg, WA to pick up the new travel trailer and it was SO pretty that day!
I forgot how pretty Ellensburg is. I started cleaning our Sharkey Replacement over the weekend.
It is pretty roomy for a 25' pull trailer... and the extra eating area with bar stools pretty much sold us. Of course, sometime next spring or summer I have big plans for the trailer! :) I've been too busy to sit down and design an inspiration/mood board... but I have a feeling I will have plenty of time in December when we are temporarily living in this thing. :) Going to need to find a place for a little Christmas tree somewhere! When I was about 16 we lived in a trailer bigger then this one, but still very similar through Christmas. We put a little tree on the table if I remember right... and the trailer had the same green color scheme.
Okay, I'm off to try and get some orders done before my mailman arrives! Dont forget that I will be closing down my etsy shop November 27th-January 1st. There is also a 40% off sale going on, so now is the best time to do your VOL25 holiday shopping- I wont be able to run a black friday sale this year! vol25 etsy shop
Also have a 50% off sale in the digital shop!
*both sales expire on Friday! :)
Hope your monday is absolutely spectacular!! :)

This morning has definitely felt like a monday. I had my normal cup of coffee while waiting for the bus to pick up Trin. But for some reason the caffeine hasnt kicked in, and everything is taking way more effort than it should!
I'm a little sad today because the ppl buying Sharkey (our vintage motorhome) came and picked the big guy up this afternoon. We needed to sell him, so its good... but a little sad too. I'll have to make a separate post up for that though. No way can I lump it in with this monday's quote! :)
I am however trying to make myself feel better by window shopping on craigslist. We need something just a tad bit bigger to replace him. I would still like something somewhat vintage, but we'll see!

Gee- isnt this true!? The hard part is knowing when and what to let go. Sometimes we have to let go of things we would rather not let go, in order to hold onto something else we need. I feel like that is so me at this point in life. Do you ever feel like you are just too comfortable? Like you need a challenge or a change to help you grow as a person? Change isnt always easy, but sometimes it is necessary! I am fortunate to be married to one of the most patient and understanding support systems. In fact, we celebrated our 9 year anniversary last week! Went out to dinner Friday night in Tri Cities to celebrate.
Mom and dad kept the kids, and it was nice to have a conversation without any important little ppl/interruptions. ;) Saturday the kids made a tent... um "cave" in the living room:
The weather was gorgeous:
and we shopped for a used RV on Sunday with my parents...
Of course we made the mistake of going inside the one on the right, you know the gorgeous silver fox? It was dreamy, but waaay out of our price range. Especially since we are trying to make the trade without taking on a loan. Banks don't tend to want you to make big purchases while you are in the process of obtaining a home loan. ;) The mustang is paid for, so we are hoping to trade it for a fifth wheel or trailer! Fingers crossed!

ha ha!! Too funny huh? When Jaydon and I were dating I said something similar to him, and he still teases me about it. :)
In other exciting news, after 5 years of dealing with a slow draining sink I now have a sink that drains fast enough to create a whirlpool.
It only cost 400.00 and took the plumber about 2.5 hours to do... but at any rate life is good. These past 6 years I've always told myself that a slow draining sink was part of the charm of living in a house built in 1892. It must have worked, because listing the house was the only reason it ended up getting fixed... but we didnt just fix it we actually had a completely new line of pipes ran. I hope the new owners can enjoy the luxury. When we moved in, not only did the sink drain slow, but it was a black sink that had been painted white... and was peeling in NUMEROUS places. It was a horrible sink, and at the time we couldnt afford to replace it.
We had an older couple that knew Jaydon stop in on their way back to Colorado to see us shortly after we moved in. They stayed just long enough for some coffee... and to get a glimpse of my sink. They were the sweetest couple, and I instantly felt like I had a new set of grandparents! :) A few days later we received a 100.00 check in the mail, and a note stating that it was to go towards a new sink. :) That really meant alot to us at the time. I often think about their generosity when I'm doing dishes!
Well, I have a big list of to do's for the day... and I had best get started!

Wow... so I have missed a couple quote mondays! But today, I have found the most perfect quote! :) I hope it gives you the courage to reach out and do something you've been putting off.
Speaking of putting things off... painting the outside of our house has been one of those things. The house was built in 1892, and it has cedar wood siding, that has been painted at some time or another. :) It has been flaking off and peeling in some spots. We are finally tackling the job, and I have a new respect for professional painters! My husband had his own painting business before I met him, so he had a slightly better idea of what we were getting ourselves into. It is such a long process, pressure washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, and then finally painting. The wood itself is in fairly good condition, but it just seems so monotonous. We're also on a bit of a time crunch for finishing it up, and that hasnt helped. I've been a bit stressed and I will be so thankful to have the house finished up.
Thank you for listening to my rant! :) Have you painted the exterior of your home lately? Or did you pay a pro to do it? :)

So- quote 100 has now been posted!! Woohoo. :) I did plan to do something big, but I'm juggling so many projects right now, that I'm not doing anything amazing... I know you probably arent surprised! ;)
This quote really hit home with me, and thought some of you could also relate!
My cousin and I are planning an 80s photo shoot today with our kids in the midst of red flag warning weather. Record high temps and possible thunderstorms... I'm also trying to finish up newsletters and unpack from our weekend trip, and I'm editing photos taken in Winthrop, WA. It was a very fun weekend! Gorgeous weather, and beautiful country!
I'll post more photos soon! :) How was your weekend?!
