I'm dropping in to remind everyone that the 50% off sale in my digital shop ends tonight!
This is the very first FREE Overlay set I have created. I've been told that adding a little "bling" to a shelter animal's photo increases adoption chances significantly. There are so many kind hearted people out there who have devoted their lives to helping animals find a home. This overlay set is my way of trying to help those very special people, help those special animals. This set is completely free for you to use.
I do have 3 other pet themed sets for sale in my shop, they are also fun to play with. :) In addition to this overlay set I finally finished up my very first album template collection geared towards dogs, cats, or bunnies... and my first storyboard template that works really well with pet photos! :)
Apply a shape to your photos and post them via any social media outlet. Please do not sell the shapes. I would love it if you helped spread the word regarding this Free set. I only ask that instead of sharing the product, please share the direct link (this one HERE: http://vol25-digitaleyecandy.com/products/free-rescue-me-overlay-set ) so others can download from the very same spot. I’ll be watching the counter to see how many times the set is downloaded and if it seems to be well loved, I just might create another set! I would love to hear if it has helped your organization!
After working on it for a couple of weeks, I am so incredibly excited to say that I have rebranded my Vol25 Digital Eye Candy shop!
Here is my new shiny logo:
I have it shown in a few different formats, because different circumstances will call for variations of the logo... but it is so nice to finally have it finished. I started working on the logo re-design back in January. I've had to re-prioritize over the past few months, and have moved it to the back burner on more than one occasion. :) I also went through and updated the Overlay Collection graphic for ALL overlays. Goodness, did you know I now offer over 50 overlay sets!!? I really didn't know the number had grown that high. It took quite a few days spent in photoshop re-loading each overlay set into photoshop, and then re-formatting them to the new updated layout collection page. I'll show you what I mean!
Old graphic versus new graphic. :) The new is much cleaner, and will allow me to make the best use of the space according to whether the graphic needs a square space, or a long skinny feature area. :) I wasn't sure it was really worth all the extra time that was put into updating my logo and the layouts... but I just couldnt leave the pages with an old logo! I still need to update some of the storyboard templates, but the overlays were a priority, and I am so glad to have them finished up!
In addition to updating each overlay set with the new graphic I also had to alter a little bit of code in each listing to display a tab format. I love how it really cleans up the listing pages:
I can change the text on the "Add To Cart" buttons, what do you think it should say?
Well, that is the new website, what do you think? I can change the width of the banner, should I? I like the full screen width because I like the fact that it is new and change... but should it be more of a standard size? Would love your thoughts!
So, in working on the shop... I have so many ideas I want to put into place. I am going to be featuring old overlay sets as well as sharing a few tips on how to use the overlays in creative ways. I also ordered my very first white seamless backdrop for something SUPER fun. :)
Okay! The best part, is that to celebrate the new look I am having a 50% OFF storewide sale!
Just use code: REDEFINE It will expire the 8th of April- so just little under a week! :)
Happy Tuesday! It kind of feels like Monday, though. Last Tuesday I woke up to realize my workstation (shown above) had automatically installed updates, and restarted during the night. I had been working on a new logo for my digital shop late that night... and was relieved to remember saving it before I went to bed! However, my relief didn't last super long... upon logging in, I noticed that my screen resolution was all off. The computer wasn't recognizing my monitor, or graphics card... and it all went downhill from there. By about 3:30 I couldnt even get windows to load. System restore was doing nothing for me, nor was the recovery option. I had the blue kill screen of death, and it was stuck looping.
Not a good way to start the week. Ironically I had a very important phone call with a really nice lady that morning, and accepted an amazing opportunity for VOL25. I hope to share a little more soon... but as of now, I have a strict schedule for the next couple weeks and I'm going to need to put off the re-design to my digital shop, as well as the planned release of my Framed Science posters. The lack of cooperation from my computer had me a little stressed out, but it is now in the repair shop, and I hope to hear something back from them today. I feel a little handicapped, I am currently using my laptop... and feeling very insecure doing so. About 6 months ago my laptop wouldnt boot up. One day in December I decided to try it out again, and it actually booted! I did have to completely wipe my system to do it.... so I hadn't been using it.... until my workstation decided to take a vacation. So, these last few days I have had to reinstall programs, fonts, brushes, all that fun stuff. :) Fortunately a few weeks back I took the time to back-up my artwork and a few other documents that I knew I would need.... totally saved me! So- back up your computers, guys! I'm still hopeful that my documents were not damaged, but having access to them right now has been so critical in still keeping my shop running!
Then last night, when attempting to print a receipt my little printer decided to complain because of an invisible paper jam. No amount of shaking, googling or wishing could clear that invisible jam, and it refuses to print because of it.
Sad sad day... when it rains it pours, right? It was a cheapo "disposable" printer. I think I paid 100.00 for it 3 years ago, so by today's standards it lived a long healthy duty serving life. :) It was a canon, so I went ahead and orded another 100.00 printer. I guess until it shows up, I will be printing shipping labels from my wide format printer.
The good news however, is that we have ALL the big furniture upstairs in the loft/bedroom/office. My dad asked me if it was a bedroom or an office, I told him it was like Superman, it has two identities. I'm still in the process of organization, but it has been so. nice. Jaydon thought of a way to hang/store a huge quantity of science posters, so I will be able to really have a good supply on hand. There is really only one more big element left to complete in the room, and that is the wood plank divider that will separate our headboard from my desk. :) I did stain the bedroom side of the boards though, and he finished doing all the cutting last night, so installing it shouldn't be a huge project! So nice when a plan comes together... The house is still very much jumbled up. There are a few things that need to move around and out of the girls' room. Progress is taking one baby step at a time, and I have been so grateful for my husband. I feel like we really opened up a can of worms when we started this moving journey. His back has been bothering him, so we've tried to make it a slow process, and he is always willing to help. :)
Well, I am off to get a few things accomplished!
Guys!!! This is my new favorite overlay set... I just finished it up this morning.
Because it has turned into a favorite... I have soo many photos I could post here on the blog, but I am going to try and refrain. I mean, you might just have to jump over to the digital shop and take a peek for yourself. :)
Okay! I'm going to stop at those pictures. I will upload my new designed collection page though!
Similar, but still different... a little fresher, you know? I'm in the process of completely updating my digital website. Debating on just overhaling the "theme" I have now, or swinging for a new design/layout. They can be pricey, but usually come with new bells and whistles... and who doesnt like that? :) So far, I'm leaning towards a major overhaul of the theme I am currently using. What do you think? What do you like most about the layout? What do you wish it had?
We have snow! Still nothing like what we should have for this time of year, but it covered the grass. The girls were very excited about wearing their new snow boots to school this morning. I'm wishing we could have sold our car over the summer, and bought that second 4 wheel drive vehicle. I was worried I couldnt make it up the hill to the bus stop. Our acura is lowered so we have hated to spend a bunch of money on snow tires, for something that I still feel like is very incapable in the snow. Fortunately Jaydon isnt really phased by driving in snow. Me? I do not like it. I did manage to get to the post office yesterday before it covered the ground too much. Thankful for that!!
Well, that is it for now. I have a pretty long to do list for the day. Well, not long... but I do have some pretty time intensive home projects I want to start on. We are in the process of swapping rooms with the girls, so I'm trying to get a few things painted upstairs in preparation for my office also moving up to the loft. Wish me luck! I'm SO excited to get it situated. The space will work so much better for me.
I listed a new Years Themed Overlay set earlier this week! :)
The Happy New Year Overlay set is available right here. You can grab it (and anything else in the store( at 50% off until 1/14. Use code: CELEBRATE
Yesterday I went to Chelan to grab groceries, so I didn't work on the newsletters for the digital shop. Hopefully today I can knock those out. :) Still trying to decide what type of freebie I will be offering in each newsletter. Should I do timeline templates again, or something different?
I have spent most of my day Cyber Monday shopping. It can be a tad bit overwhelming watching things/sizes disappear out of my carts. Even at home in the comfort of my own home people are stealing things out of my cart! hah. I could have very likely done the same thing to someone else...so its all good. I'm feeling pretty great knowing I am getting more for my money today- or at least that is what I am telling myself. ;)
I just wanted to stop my shopping long enough to jump over here and remind you that today is the last day to save in both my shops. The support from you guys in both shops- has been amazing! I have been printing orders today in the midst of shopping (multi-tasking at its best) and I am planning to have all orders placed during the sale- out by Wednesday. All but 2 orders placed Thursday and Friday are already on their way! I will not be offering 60% off in my digital shop again until the next big black friday sale. I also never run sales this big in my etsy shop, so definitely a great time to stock up on gifts.
I'm off to make myself a salted caramel espresso, and then I am getting back to my shopping. :)
I'm marking down prices drastically to serve up extremely awesome Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions. The sales have officially started as of now, and will run through the weekend and Cyber Monday. Expiring at midnight on December 2nd.
In my digital shop I am offering 60% OFF! Never have I offered 60% off, so please take advantage of this border line- insane sale price. ;)
Use code: BESTSALEVER EXP: 12/2 midnight.
I have also decided to mark down the Science posters- for the first time ever. It was a little hard to do that, but I decided Black Friday was kind of a big deal, and if I was ever going to mark them down... it would be for Black Friday! :) You can save 15.00 on each large Science poster. I think that is a big deal equal to Black Friday! ;)
The mini Science posters are marked down from 50.00 to 45.00!!
So, this means there are all kind of savings waiting to be had. :) I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, we had Thanksgiving at our house this year, and I am super tired! I'm just about finished putting the finishing touches on these sales, and then I am going to find my pillow. I'll be checking my e-mail first thing in the morning. I will be sticking close to the house so I will be able to answer any questions you may have. :)
Happy Holidays everyone!
This morning I finished up the new Christmas themed overlay set! You can find it right here. Use code: MERRY to save 50% off until 11/20 :) Working on these had me humming Christmas songs... and I haven't even listened to any Christmas music this year! :) Normally I play some Bing Crosby to get me into the Christmas spirit while designing the overlays... but this set just came naturally. :) I will be trying to talk the husband into putting our Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving! :) I've been tempted to put it up sooner. I think living up here at the cabin is making it feel like Christmas sooner. I'm pretty sure we will have a cozy white Christmas, and we will need to be perfecting our sledding routes! ;)
I had people asking me to list the new "Charcoal Christmas" card templates individually... and today I finally got around to it. It took me faaar too long to do so, because of some sort of server error I kept getting. Fortunately I found a work around that allowed me to finish the job! :)
My favorite of the 5 has to be the typewriter card template...
but it is definitely hard to narrow it down. I am partial to each one for different reasons I guess. :)
You can find them all right here in the shop.
In other news: look at how big my baby is getting!
Almost too big for me to hold... well without putting my back out! ;) She is such a sweetie. Not nearly as high maintenance as she used to be.
I know I said that I would post a peek of the new Christmas cards that are making their way to the etsy shop, and I had planned to.... but the actual cards came in the mail early today, so I'm going to go ahead and photograph them tomorrow... then post! You'll get to see the real deal and not just my JPG files! :)
Whew! Today has been a long day and I am beat. I am chipping away at that list of mine, and trying to stay focused on one task at at ime... otherwise it can be a tad bit overwhelming!
Okay, so the shortened version of this post.... my puppy is turning into a giant, christmas card peek... tomorrow, and you can now purchase the Christmas cards in the shop... right here! :) Good night you all, or morning depending on where you might be sitting. ;)
