Happy Monday! How was your weekend? The weather was really nice here in the Methow Valley. I have been working on making a set of drftwood wind chimes, and finally finished them up. I'll get up an official post in the next couple of days... but I shared updates on instagram as I worked on them little by little. :) I pulled colors from this throw pillow I bought at Target.

I was given my mother's day present a day early. We were planning to have company tomorrow, and they thought it would be best to give it to me now, so we could all enjoy it tomorrow. So glad they did, it was the lights and I love them!

Learning to play

Jaydon has been teaching the girls to play the ukulele... He has been spending more time with Trinity, but the other night he spent some time teaching Journey. She was catching on fairly quick, but I'm sure if you asked her today she wouldnt remember a thing of it! :)

I think it is pretty sweet when he takes the time to play with the girls. They sure enjoy their daddy time! Lately his evenings have been spent outside working on the yard. 3 acres is a lot to maintain. Fortunately we have underground sprinklers, so time is spent moving sprinklers. However he has the biggest pet peeve with dandelions, and he has been battling them for the past couple weeks. Trin earned 10.00 by halfway filling a wal-mart sack with dandelion flowers.. and he has been spraying them too. Really though, everything is probably just worse because it is Spring and the yard needs some magor attention following the winter. :) The weather has been gorgeous, and the girls were able to run through the sprinklers for the first time this year! Well, I had best get this post published I have a pile of clean clothes calling my name.

New Lepidoptera Science Poster- Vol.2

Good morning!! How are you today? Too early to tell? I completely agree. :)

So, I did get the new butterfly science poster listed yesterday! Lepidoptera Vol.2 is now available in the shop right here. 

I really wanted to add some blues to the science poster spectrum. These colors compliment the other colors in the previous science posters... perfectly! :)

Today I am working on getting newsletters out for the VOL25 etsy shop. :) The digital shop will be just a day or so behind.

Oh- and I did actually release the square blogging templates yesterday. I also kicked off a 50% off mothers day sale in the digital shop. I'll drop back in for an official product release post, and more details later today. :)

Quote #118 plus new science posters!

Hello! It is monday, and I actually have a quote for you!! I'm shocked too. I've been a bit neglectful here on the blog in that department. In fact, I've been a bit neglectful on the blog.... period! :) I'm experimenting with a new look for the monday quotes. Not sure if I'm 100% sold, but so far I am liking it... plus I ran out of time experimenting, and needed to get something posted today! :)

Last week was a stressful week. One I would be okay not repeating anytime soon. It wasnt just horrible, but it had it's moments! So, today is a fresh new week and I am anxious to finish up a few projects. One being the square blogging templates I posted about back on the 19th... wow 10 days ago.

Time is just flying by.... Its almost summer!

You know how I have griped and complained about the color of our walls not photographing the best, or consistently? Well, Jaydon helped me create a couple portable wood backdrops for my science posters... and I LOVE them! We used some cedar boards we had on hand. I sanded them down and even helped cut them with the skill saw. I'm trying to get more comfortable using the saw, because I WANT to have the ability to make a few things for myself... without having to rely on my sweet husband to cut everything for me. I stained the two different colors, one I stained a dark charcoal gray, and the other I whitewashed. :) Here is the darker one in action:

I actually listed the moose antler poster a week or so ago, but wasnt totally LOVING the shot so I didnt blog or pin the poster. I like this look SO much better then how it was done before. I was pretty excited to still sell the poster for the first time last week- to a customer in Alaska! :) Always soo rewarding to sell a new piece for the first time. :)

Finishing up the backdrops inspired me to finish a new design, because you know I needed something to photograph against the whitewashed backdrop. I already shared a peek at it on instagram, but I'll be back later today to share it with a direct link into my shop. I'm waiting for the sun to be in just the right spot before I photograph it!

I'm feeling a little under the weather today, and I might try to make some hot tea in my CBTL machine for the first time. I'm not really a tea drinker though, hot or cold. How about you? Maybe I just dont know how to make a good cup of hot tea? Definitely staying in my sweats and oversized comfy sweater... I work better when I'm comfy. :D It is sunny today, but SUUUPER duuuper windy...

 

Working on: Square blog post templates perfect for blogging your instagram photos

 

See!? The above is an example of the new templates, and how you can use them. I pulled the pictures above from my instagram feed HERE. I just opened the photo I wanted to use, right clicked- and copied it... then pasted it in photoshop directly into the layout I wanted to use. :) I currently have 5 designs, and a few different headers you can use. The "snapshots" header above is an example of one of the headers. No need to go into detail on each photo, but you certainly can if you like. :) You make it as quick or time intensive as you prefer! All 5 layouts feature square photos, so they really work perfectly with instagram photos, but you aren't limited to just square photos. :)

I have all 5 layouts designed, now I just need to clean up the layers, and organize the templates, create the listing etc. :) We are helping my parents move some of their stuff out of their house in Prosser this weekend (they have an accepted offer and a back-up offer locked in!) so I will probably not be able to finish this up until the beginning of next week sometime... but the hardest part is always getting the design right. So, hopefully everything will go smoothly and quickly from here! :)
