Every year my cousin and I try to get together and plan a styled shoot for our kiddos. We could just take pictures of them, but this is so much more fun. I love that we just work so easily and manage to stay out of each other's way. We are easy like that. Stealing each other's kids when it is convienent. Doing shoots like this, is what I like about photography, this is when it is fun to me... no expectations, no obligations, just fun stuff. It makes me wish I had spent the money (hah that we didnt have) to get my newer camera fixed. I've been using my anicent camera for over a year now... because my other camera needs sent off for repair.
We brainstormed ideas for quite a while leading up to this, but ended up painting and assembling the props the afternoon of the shoot. :) I planned to buy the girls a couple outfits, but budget and lack of shopping sources meant we just used what we had on hand. Trin's dress is actually a dress turned inside out so that the embroidered scrolling didnt show. :) Considering we put this shoot together without spending any money was a plus. We drove across the river from our cabin, so we didnt go far!
We had planned to do a little war paint on their faces, but we were rushing around so last minute that we wouldnt have had time, if we would have even remembered! :) I have soo many more photos, but those are kind of my favorites.
Journey always starts to get a little delirious towards the end of the shoot... love that girl. :) Here are some of our past shoots:
I was glad my cousin Shannon made the effort to come up and see us. She lives in Springfield OR (basically Eugene) and now that we have moved it is an 8 hour drive for her to make it to our place. I have a few more pictures to post from our weekend, it was a fun, full weekend, complete with record setting lightening storms, and winds that I thought for SURE was a tornado hovering above us. :)
Oh- and I think she decided Blue Star lived up to all the hype, she bought an insulated mug... so I'm thinking so! ;)
