New packaging!

My new packaging came in last week... and I am so excited to send the first of these out with a batch of orders today! I'm most excited about the new 5x7 sixed envelopes. I have been using 4x6 for years, but the last time I ordered promos for my zazzle shop I upgraded the postcard to a 5x7, so when I re-ordered envlopes a bigger size was a must! :) So happy with them! The new print "Be awesome Today" HAD to be included... because I still love it!



I had a really productive day Friday and saturday starting and finishing quite a few projects I've had floating around in my head for months. I painted the girls' alcoves with chalkboard paint, hung a curtain for each of their beds, made my first potatoe stamp and stamped my kitchen curtain as well as the covering for the pallet "sofa" on the front porch. Kind of amazing since I'm still battling allergies! ;)

Yesterday we celebrated Father's day and kept it low key. We did take the kids to the park and let them wade around in the water. They tried their hardest to catch one of the thousands of minnows swimming in the water... with no luck of course. :)

Hapy Monday! I didnt have a quote ready today, I need to get some stocked up for busy weeks when I can't get one finished up. :)

Super quick post... I need to empty out my laundry closet before Jaydon gets home from work. The washer shut down on me Saturday and flashed an F21 code... which I have come to understand means something may be lodged in the drain hose... BAD me. I hope it is something minor because I am HORRIBLE about checking pockets... REALLY really bad. Don't tell Jaydon, but I actually washed his pocket knife a couple weeks ago! <--- see, I am really bad!! :) I've even washed my zune (mp3 player)... and fortunately it still works. So, as you can imagine I am a teensy bit worried as to what may be clogging the drain pipe. I would by lying if I said I wasnt curious... more worried though! :)

This piece was created out of inspiration given to me from a customer, she had loved the "i will be grateful" rainy day print, but wanted a slight twist on it. :) She and her husband own a body shop and she wanted a calming rainy day print with the words, "Everything is going to work out beautifully." Her hopes was that it might give a little bit of comfort to people who had just been involved in an accident... I thought it was an incredibly sweet idea. Everyone stands in need of comfort at some point in their life, and this print provides the calming message they need to see.

I am kind of loving the colors, definitely soothing! :) It also really compliments the original "i will be grateful for this day"

Yesterday we went expoloring a piece of property with my parents... sure were a bunch of pretty wildflowers!

They are currently trying to find a place to buy in the Methow Valley... and not having ANY luck. Houses are few and far between... and most are just too far away when you consider driving to Chelan every day to work. They are considering purchasing a lot and building a house again. The property we looked at yesterday was really pretty and already had a well, power, septic and full RV hookups... so it would be really ideal. Guess we will just wait and see!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? The weather was really nice here in the Methow Valley. I have been working on making a set of drftwood wind chimes, and finally finished them up. I'll get up an official post in the next couple of days... but I shared updates on instagram as I worked on them little by little. :) I pulled colors from this throw pillow I bought at Target.

New Lepidoptera Science Poster- Vol.2

Good morning!! How are you today? Too early to tell? I completely agree. :)

So, I did get the new butterfly science poster listed yesterday! Lepidoptera Vol.2 is now available in the shop right here. 

I really wanted to add some blues to the science poster spectrum. These colors compliment the other colors in the previous science posters... perfectly! :)

Today I am working on getting newsletters out for the VOL25 etsy shop. :) The digital shop will be just a day or so behind.

Oh- and I did actually release the square blogging templates yesterday. I also kicked off a 50% off mothers day sale in the digital shop. I'll drop back in for an official product release post, and more details later today. :)

Hello! It is monday, and I actually have a quote for you!! I'm shocked too. I've been a bit neglectful here on the blog in that department. In fact, I've been a bit neglectful on the blog.... period! :) I'm experimenting with a new look for the monday quotes. Not sure if I'm 100% sold, but so far I am liking it... plus I ran out of time experimenting, and needed to get something posted today! :)

Last week was a stressful week. One I would be okay not repeating anytime soon. It wasnt just horrible, but it had it's moments! So, today is a fresh new week and I am anxious to finish up a few projects. One being the square blogging templates I posted about back on the 19th... wow 10 days ago.

Time is just flying by.... Its almost summer!

You know how I have griped and complained about the color of our walls not photographing the best, or consistently? Well, Jaydon helped me create a couple portable wood backdrops for my science posters... and I LOVE them! We used some cedar boards we had on hand. I sanded them down and even helped cut them with the skill saw. I'm trying to get more comfortable using the saw, because I WANT to have the ability to make a few things for myself... without having to rely on my sweet husband to cut everything for me. I stained the two different colors, one I stained a dark charcoal gray, and the other I whitewashed. :) Here is the darker one in action:

I actually listed the moose antler poster a week or so ago, but wasnt totally LOVING the shot so I didnt blog or pin the poster. I like this look SO much better then how it was done before. I was pretty excited to still sell the poster for the first time last week- to a customer in Alaska! :) Always soo rewarding to sell a new piece for the first time. :)

Finishing up the backdrops inspired me to finish a new design, because you know I needed something to photograph against the whitewashed backdrop. I already shared a peek at it on instagram, but I'll be back later today to share it with a direct link into my shop. I'm waiting for the sun to be in just the right spot before I photograph it!

I'm feeling a little under the weather today, and I might try to make some hot tea in my CBTL machine for the first time. I'm not really a tea drinker though, hot or cold. How about you? Maybe I just dont know how to make a good cup of hot tea? Definitely staying in my sweats and oversized comfy sweater... I work better when I'm comfy. :D It is sunny today, but SUUUPER duuuper windy...

Technically I've been on instagram for over a year... but the purpose of that account was to keep my family updated with pictures of my girls... and then have those pictures printed into a book at the end of the year. Well I recently sent a science poster to a friend named Rachel from smile and wave. She posted a picture of it on instagram and I had people sending me following requests. It was then that I decided I needed to change my sceen name of that account to something a little more personal and use my VOL25 user name for a separate instagram business account. It is a pain logging in back and forth between the two accounts (would be awesome if instagram would at least remember my usernames) but it is worth it. I can finally post about happenings relating to my businesses as well as updates on life in general.

With my previous account I always felt uncomfortable posting things I've been working on for either of my shops because I don't want to be that person who constantly self promotes to family (not that there is anything wrong with that, you do what you gotta do right?) but it has been nice feeling like I can do that and you guys might actually wanna see those kind of updates! ;)

So, if you sent me a request to follow (at the beginning of the week) please go ahead and follow me here, and tag your vol25 art with the hash tags VOL25 :)

Oddly enough: I had signed up with followgram to give you guys an easy way of following me on instragram via computer, and right after doing that, I mysteriously had people added to my following list that I didnt choose to follow! Has anyone else had that happen? I know that followgram had done it, because those same people's profile pictures were showing up at the top of my followgram home screen with the message "become a power user and increase your popularity" Buy for x amount of dollars. It just makes me think those people had paid to be promoted and added to my list. Not a HUGE deal, if I am made aware that something like that will in fact happen when I sign up. Otherwise it comes down to trust issues... what else will they do without me knowing. Has anyone else had that happen? I did a google search and nothing like that came up! Maybe it is something new they are doing? I like to be intentional with who I follow you know- I'm not in for the followbacks. I want genuine ppl who care about what I do following me... even if my numbers are low.. okay super low! ha ha :)

At any rate, I went ahead and deactivated my account, I'll stick to webstagram... ;)

How is your day?! I am having one of those days where I dont feel like I am accomplishing much. Some days are just like that. I had a pretty  busy day yesterday with kindergarten registration and getting orders out yesterday morning... so today is somewhat of a lazy day! Can you believe Journey is starting kindergarten this year? I'm dreading it... but the fact that she is SO excited is helping me cope... I think. :) I had a proud mommy moment yesterday when at the screening the teacher brought up a piece of paper with letters on it Journey had wrote. She said "we have never had a kindergartner draw their letters in bubble, 3d form, I think you have a graphic designer on your hands" I just laughed a little, and said "well, that is kind of what I do." so she comes by it honestly! :) She is always trying to copy what I draw, her and Trin have always been that way.... its cute. :)

She is getting much too big. :) Did I mention she knows everything at the age of 4? She gets that from her daddy. ;)
