My sister and her kiddos came over the other day and we finally completed the rest of the work on the secret project I've been telling you about... her own etsy art shop! :) The family brainstormed names while we were camping in June, and decided on Sticky Ink. Her shop will be geared towards the important little people in our lives, who all to frequently have sticky fingers. :) So, Sticky Ink seemed fitting. The family and I have been pushing her to open an etsy shop for her artwork for what seems like ages, but I think since I had an art shop already she was worried how it would all work out... and didnt want to cause any problems... but she has always had her own distinct style. I cannot do people, but she has always effortleslly managed to whip out cute characters/people. So, I'm excited she finally decided to start this journey and I'm so glad to be able to help her get started on the right foot!
Getting her shop set-up has been an ongoing process, and we're both pretty happy to have the shop finally up and functioning for her. Even though I havent been able to take on custom requests, I went ahead and designed a logo and brand for her shop, as well as the packaging and listing images. It was fun, and suuper easy since we were on the same wave length from the very beginning! She wanted a comic-ish (that IS a word right?) feel to her brand and shop, and that was actually a pretty fun concept to play with.
She is printing on the same high quality canvas that I use... so if you have ordered from me, you already know how awesome this paper is! :)
She has a variety of colorful art creatures in her shop. I love the personality and story that each print has associated with it. :)
Honestly, I think "Hal" is my absolute favorite. I can see him in a little girl or boy's room:
Cookie Security available HERE.
In Heather's words: "'Hal' demonstrates JUST how determined he is to keep your cookies safe from cookie-snatchers... Even if it means eating them himself! Cookie Security... Fast, Safe & Easy.
Hal was the very first of my Ni-Nite collection.. Created one night in the effort of comforting my daughter who was having a hard time going to sleep in fear of 'the bedtime monster'. In the hopes of eliminating any fear of monsters at night, Ni Nite Monsters was created.. Showing children monsters don't have to be bad. :) "
I think it is really neat that in addition to a really cute print, you also receive the certificate that can ease a child's mind. Kinda a nice bonus you know?! If you're fortunate enough to not need the certificate, it may make a nice drink coaster, or paper airplane? :)
We had fun brainstorming that writing! :) It was entirely too late, after a long day of tripping over toys and chasing kids in our suuuper duuper small house. :)
Here is another print with Hal. Dont you just love those eyes of his? Who could say no to a monster THIS cute? ;)
I Like Cheese available HERE.
Another fave:
I Heart You This Much available HERE
and she hasnt forgotten the girly girls out there... She started a fairy tale series. She is working on one that I LOVE... but this one is a close second:
Goldilocks Fairy Tale Digital Art Available HERE
"Goldilocks & The Three Bears learned how to settle their differences.. an now are the best of friends. :) A new twist on the nostalgic-storybook tale we all remember as a kid!"
Each order comes with this little monster. You'll definitely need to help the littles ones cut him out. He is professionally printed on postcard thick paper, so he is DURABLE. :)
and he/she also makes a really good bookmark! :)
I asked Heather if she wanted to give you guys a discount code, and she was more than happy to do so!
SO... use code: sticky25cust in my sister's shop
STICKYINK and receive 40% off your order!
40% is an awesome deal, and I know she is really hoping to build up some feedback. It is always hard just starting out, and trying to build a customer base, but I know you guys appreciate art!
She is also looking into hosting giveaways/and advertising with like minded mommy blogs, if you think your blog may be a good fit leave a link here in the comments section and we'll take a peek!
I'm curious (and I'm sure she is even MORE curious) which print of hers is your favorite!? Also, if you've recently opened your own etsy shop... what do you wish someone would have told you in the beginning? Or would you mind sharing any mistakes you learned from?
