(Scroll down to my previous post to "meet" the team!)
Hello! I am back and suuuper excited to finally release the ahoy! overlay set... I even decided to put it on sale. :)
I am also including my custom all time favorite distressing brush free of charge. This is the same brush that was used to distress all the waves shown in these images.
This is my all time favorite brush, I use it in my art ALL the time. :)
With the release of every new set of overlays, I plan to mark them down for the first 2 weeks, after that they will default back to they're regular price. So you can get these today for 19.50. That includes the distressing brush even... :)
Okay, I have tons (TONS) of inspiration for your from our design team... click the banners for a direct link to they're blog/website.
"The overlays are extremely versatile and can be used in so many different ways for papercrafters. As soon as I opened my set my head started swimming with ideas. A lot of the graphics can be printed on cardstock to make your own patterned paper. They can be used on cards, layouts or in mini books. I printed out one of the quotes on a kraft cardstock tag and used the birds to make my own paper. I love the end result and can't wait to use the overlays on more projects with paper."
Supply list: cardstock: Bazzill; pattern paper: BoBunny Press; stamp: Fontwerks

ABOUT THE LAYOUT:
Because I recently jumped in head-first into a
creative venture that I've been dreaming about for a long long time I've
had a flood of emotions throughout the last few months and I really
wanted to capture how I felt while I was still right in the middle of
it. When I saw the new wave overlays I instantly knew that I wanted to
do something with them representing my journey right now. The wave
represents the overwhelming feeling of beginning a new business and
never getting sleep, but I wanted to represent how exciting and
inspiring it has all been at the same time so I went with bright colors
and a happy photo.

"So very honoured to be a part of Jessica's Eye Candy Overlay design team!! I am such a huge fan of all of her work, so this is very very exciting for me! Not only are the overlays fun for photos.. but I also love using them on other crafty projects such as my scrapbook pages! On this layout, I opened up a 12x12 canvas in Photoshop, applied the wave shape in blue and then added the birds in black. After I was satisfied with placement, I printed the file onto white 12x12 cardstock, and then completed my page with my photos and traditional scrapbooking supplies."
supply list: white cardstock, patterned paper (Pink Paislee and Studio Calico), tape (Pink Paislee),
transparent overlays (Hambly), rubons for title (Heidi Grace), gems (KI Memories)

This shoot started with just a cardboard box, a giant sharpie marker, a torn striped shirt, an old cardboard roll from a small rug, a crib sized sheet, and some packaging tape... oh and a few toilet paper rolls for a good set of binoculars... :) The overlays took it all to a whole new level.
I have to admit though, not even I was sure I was going to be able to pull this session off. Jaydon who normally has quite a bit of confidence in my vision, was a little unconvinced... A cardboard box? I really think the handmade aspect adds to it, and seriously there is not really any talent needed here. Drawing lines on the box and squigley lines should make it fairly obvious that it is a boat... once you add the waves, they won't leave any doubt.
I thought it would be fun to have fishing poles made out of sticks and twine for the line... but I ran out of time.
she had a toy fishing pole, so we used that instead. :)
The vintage quilt hanging in the background is one my late great grandma (everyone called her granny) started and never finished YEARS ago. :) I've always been told that the fabric was scraps of clothes her kids would outgrow.
... I hope that wasnt too much inspiration for you!? :)
If you are a photographer and still a little unsure of the versatility this set offers; I would say it is excellent if you photograph children and want to add a little creativity to your sessions. With a few cheap items you can really create something memorable for your clients. Although, when I started working with my photographers' pictures, I was a little surprised just how easy they were to work into other sessions, not necessarily shot with this set in mind. So, they may not be as versatile for a professional photographer as some of the other sets, but they are still so much fun to play around with and add a lighthearted whimsical touch to your sessions. :)
