"Mistakes Are Proof That You Are Trying" by Vol25
I'd like to say that I never have to remind myself of that... but I'm human and make my share of mistakes. Usually a little more so then not, and especially when stepping out of my comfort zone. Did I mention that my comfort zone is a very small bubble? hah hah
A few weeks ago, we made a really big step out of our comfort zone and have begun eating a very low carb, high fat diet. No more processed foods and avoiding sugar. The plan is more commonly known as the Primal Blueprint. Basically eating Paleo, but allowing dairy from what I understand. My cousin has been eating this way for a couple of years, and I admired her for it... but didn't think I could ever give up bread. It just seemed like such a big change, and sacrifice. Well, I was finally able to retrain my thinking. I'm not feeling so much like I'm giving up bread, sugar, and other favorite foods... but I'm choosing to feel better and taking better care of myself. Plus, it just seems so easy, that I often worry I'm not doing something right... no more counting calories, or feeling hungry? My cravings are pretty much gone. I eat when I'm hungry. :) The more I eat this way, the easier it seems. I haven't missed bread at all. I'm still drinking my coffee with my sugared mocha powder, and I make an iced mocha with my fontana chocolate syrup... but I might get to a point when I can give that up too. Baby steps!! :) But, I'm already feeling so much better.
Anyhow, that is where we are at now. We are looking at this change as a lifestyle change. So, big step out of my comfort zone. Why are so many of our traditions or memories based around food? Is it just my family, that is like that? :) At any rate.. we will be making some new traditions I think!
So, how was your week? :)
