We sold Sharkey last Monday. The upcoming move had us considering selling the big guy. We knew we were going to need something bigger (and maybe a little more insulated) to live in between house closings. -yep! The title says it all, and I'm so incredibly excited to have Sharkey (our motorhome) featured over on etsy's blog this morning. He is beaming from side mirror to side mirror. -hah! Vintage Motorhome Before and Afters!

It has been awhile since I've posted anything new on the motorhome! :) A couple weeks ago I set-up and staged the motorhome for some "almost" final "after" pictures. Honestly, I do not see much else getting done anytime soon. We're going into fall, so I think Sharkey will begin the hibernation stage soon. :) He may have one more trip this year ahead of him- but nothing set in stone yet... CAMPING LABOR DAY 2011 Part TWO

Continued from my previous post... we finally made it to the Moonrocks! It is always really pretty up there, and it seems you can always count on a slight breeze. We ate lunch: The guys played around a little... and I took pictures! :) We didnt stick around very long at all, before we headed back to camp. I really can't explain to you how dirty I felt. CAMPING LABOR DAY 2011 Part ONE

We sure enjoyed ourselves! I still havent figured out how camping seems to be relaxing even though it is still so much work! :) Maybe it is trading internet/cell phones for the sounds/smells of nature... well we had a neighbor with a loud generator at our campground, but when it was off you could hear the nature part. ;) The trip there (pulling the landcruiser) was a little stressful. Well hello!! :) It is actually official now. The motorhome is just about packed and we are ready to head to the mountains! :) Really looking forward to it. I've really enjoyed packing this time. It was absolutely NOTHING like my last packing experience.... I snapped some pictures of a few of my favorites details in the motorhome: The antler guy is actually a toothbrush/toothpaste holder! Vintage Motorhome = cute guest house

A couple weeks ago my brother and his wife came to visit, and decided to stay outside in the motorhome. Our house is just a 2 bedroom, so we usually give up our bed to company, and we sleep in the living room on the hide-a-bed. wilderness bound!

Well, we finally pulled up the 300+ staples out of the floor of the motorhome.... and finished laying the floor down! We still need to add some quarter round trim, along the edges to really finish it off, but I really love how it turned out! :) We've spent ALL day loading cleaning, and loading some more... and I think we just may be almost ready to leave! I have a sink full of dirty dishes I need to load into the dishwasher, (and I'm sure I'll think of others things I need to load during that time) and then... Read more →

Motorhome Progress for June!

The motorhome is coming along nicely. I think we might be about 75% done with it now. :) I have been tackling small projects up until now... like covering the refrigerator in chalkboard contact paper (verdict is still out on whether or not I would recommend it, so far it seems my chalk scratches the surfaces) before: after: I love how it really blends with the space now, and I think the girls will have fun with it. :) I bought dust free chalk, and that may be why it seems like it scratches?
